I started playing the concert C flute when I was 10 years old, in the fifth grade. My grandfather, a retired music teacher and long-time musician, gave me my beginning foundations. To instill discipline and build a proper embouchure, for one year, he only let me practice with the mouth piece and promised to give the rest of the body of the instrument once I had gotten a solid tone. Since then, I have played in jazz ensembles, marching bands, woodwind ensembles, musical pit orchestras, have given lessons to youngsters, and started a collection of flutes from around the world, for which I play sometimes for more spiritual purposes. Playing music is part of who I am and so is this instrument. As your modern day pied piper, I am always grateful for the opportunity to share music and space with others. Please see some of my past collaborations below.
